Little Home Sketch from Freshwater

Onto my second entry for my Little Homes Drawings. This one is based on a photo I took of a lovely little weatherboard house in Freshwater (Harbord) in Sydney.

Following a suggestion from an Instagram friend I think I will try to add subtle shading and hues with watercolours on my next home, if a paper and pen test goes well.

  1. It's totally perfect the way it is... I adore it. Let me guess, is it near the Freshwater Beach? On a big block (for it's size). And is it edible? Almost. Pruxxxxxx

  2. I agree that these are perfect. I think that they are so appealing because of the delicate, fragile, first lines that are made to draw it. Reworking them might take away from the "purity"? Perhaps that is the wrong word...but I think you should keep them simple and clean. I LOVE them this way and I am sure I have told you I can't wait until you have them all done. I draw houses all the time but for you to collect them this way and draw them all in one place seems so great. I can't wait!!

    1. Thanks Roni! You've reassured me about sticking with what I've started with and not overdeveloping the drawings. I greatly appreciate your feedback. Cx

  3. Hi Chantal. I looked at Rowan's Easter bunny wall art yesterday and thought why haven't I heard about chantal lately. Well silly old me wasn't following your blog! Fixed and done. So hello again, I just love the little home sketch! Perhaps I could persuade you to commission for me a picture of my fibro beach shack I have been renovating. xx Roberta
