May the force be with them.

I'm taking my son to a themed birthday party tomorrow. The birthday boy is very creative and can sit quietly drawing, absorbed in his play, for long stretches of time. So I decided to make him some stamps to go along with his favourite theme.  What I planned to be a short stint of time has turned out to be most of the afternoon, after realising the characters I had wanted to carve were really difficult to draw (like Chewi's hair - lots of swearing going on there!). My son reminded me that C-3PO was the party boy's favourite, but aside from that, all the more suitable ones for my carving skills were from the dark side.

I apologise to any die hard fans I may have offended with my depictions. Two "moderate" Star Wars fans in this household gave a nod for my stormtrooper but looks of concern for the other 3. I'm hoping the birthday boy might be a little more forgiving.

  4. Ha ha ha, I was laughing when I read your post title and I am still laughing about the rest. 'Looks of concern', what ever can they have meant? I think R2D2 (he IS the yellow one, right?) looks fab especially since you so carefully put a darker colour on the lower half of his face - that is giving his neck real depth. The other ones look very grim, as they should!

  5. You've excelled yourself here! We haven't reached the Star Wars age yet, but my nephews would be very. Very. Impressed. ;)

  8. These are so fantastic. I've been obsessed with drawing Storm Troopers lately. And Storm Trooper in Lego form. Go figure. :)
